Las guerreras sueñan con cambiar su futuro y el futuro del planeta mediante el activismo climático. Respaldadas por organizaciones ambientalistas, en 2021 denunciaron al estado y ganaron una sentencia para retirar los mecheros de la muerte de la industria petrolera de su selva. Aunque el tribunal de Ecuador no cumpla la sentencia, sus voces se elevan más fuerte y cada vez su lucha tiene más seguimiento en otros lugares. Juntas, se sienten una fuerza capaz de todo, llevando su mensaje hasta la cumbre climática de Brasil -COP30- junto a otras jóvenes llegadas de todos los rincones de Latinoamérica. Su esperanza en el cambio no es en vano. La lucha climática toma impulso, y cada vez son más los jóvenes que se unen a la primera línea del frente en todo el mundo, sumando fuerzas por un planeta habitable y libre de contaminación. The warriors dream of changing their future and the future of the planet through climate activism. Backed by environmental organizations, in 2021 they took the government to court and won a ruling to remove the death flares of the oil industry from their jungle. Although the Ecuadorian court has yet to enforce the ruling, their voices grow louder, and their struggle is gaining more support in other places. Together, they feel like an unstoppable force, carrying their message all the way to the Climate Summit in Brazil—COP30—along with other young women from all corners of Latin America. Their hope for change is not in vain. The climate fight is gaining momentum, and more and more young people are joining the front lines worldwide, uniting forces for a livable, pollution-free planet. The warriors of the Amazon are the future turned into the present. They have become women with a clear message to convey: a message of love and respect for nature.

Women warrior for the Amazon follows the journey from adolescence to adulthood of several young girls who form a climate activism group, fighting against oil pollution in the Amazon of Ecuador. This film explores how activism influences their lives during this transitional stage. Through their eyes, the documentary offers a raw look at the climate struggle of young women living in sacrifice zones in the Global South. A female perspective that promotes respect for nature from an indigenous point of view. The documentary aims to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect the Amazon and highlights the strength of women and youth as drivers of change in the fight against the climate crisis.
